Spiritual Formation and Fellowship

As an inter-generational group of Christ’s disciples, we learn from each other and thereby grow in our understanding of our shared faith.

We gather together on our UBUNTU (which means, “DO LIFE!”) Wednesdays — at noon and then again at 6 p.m. — in which we celebrate our human connections. We come together to enjoy each other’s company, to share a meal together, and share our spiritual life with each other — to learn from our study of the written Word together, to pray together.

At various times during the year we offer a special class, What the Heck Is A Lutheran?, for those who are new to our denomination and way of being Christ’s body in the world.

We also believe the home, the family, to be of vital importance in spiritual formation and offer numerous resources to parents who are guiding their children in their faith development.

The ministry of spiritual care (sometimes called pastoral care) and spiritual direction is also a part of our spiritual formation. Pastor Marilyn is available to provide you with that care and/or direction. And we offer a shared ministry with Rev. David Gillespie — Sacred Journeys: Affirming Spiritual Care and Spiritual Direction. Click HERE for more information about Sacred Journeys.

In memory of a dear friend, the late Father. Gary Knapp, we also have a Prayer/Meditation Labyrinth located between the church’s building and Pelham Road and invite you to explore this particular spiritual discipline.

We also offer various small group opportunities for spiritual formation and fellowship throughout the year.
